Presentation Topic: Summary and Insights From H.R.1, The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) 

On July 4, 2025, the President signed H.R.1 into law, extending many of the expiring provisions from the TCJA as well as adding new tax provisions. Learn more about what you need to know as an estate planning professional to quickly access key provisions, anticipate client impacts and identify planning opportunities.

BIO -- APRIL WALKER: 

April Walker, CPA, CGMA Association of International Certified Professional Accountants Senior Manager – Tax Practice & Ethics – Public Accounting

April Walker serves AICPA and Tax Section members by developing and promoting timely and useful tax resources.  She is the staff liaison for the Tax Practice Management Committee as well as several Task Forces where she assists in creating tools for tax practitioners to manage their practices in a more efficient manner. 

Prior to joining the Association, she worked in the public accounting field for twenty years, specializing in individual tax, closely held businesses and their respective owners, and not-for-profit taxation.  April practiced at Blackman & Sloop, CPAs, a local firm in Chapel Hill, NC, for the past 14 years and prior to joining that firm, she worked for almost 5 years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Raleigh, NC.  April is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the North Carolina Association of CPAs.
